Emergency First Response Course
What's involved?
Because diving often takes place at remote locations, it is essential for divers to have the first aid knowledge and skills that enable them to sustain life and promote relief until professional help arrives.
The NEW First Aid training program is designed for all recreational scuba divers or anyone wishing to develop the necessary life saving skills for work home or whilst at leisure.
The care given in the first hour following an incident can be the difference between life and death.
This new course covers the four conerstones of first aid incidents: First Aid, CPR, Oxygen Administration, Accident Management, and
it meets all requirements for the PADI Rescue Diver Course, and the performance criteria for DAN's Oxygen provider courses.
The course comprises two elements and follows the same priorities of care used by medical professionals.
- Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) assumes that local Emergency Medical Service (EMS) providers are in place to support Emergency Responder care.
- Emergency First Response Secondary Care (First Aid) assumes that EMS is delayed or unavailable.
Who is the course for?
This course is suitable for you if you'd like to acquire or develop your first aid skills. It is also a pre-requisite if you're enrolled on the PADI Rescue Diver course. Whilst we do cover diving related injuries on the course, it is suitable for anyone, regardless of interest or involvement in diving.
How much does it cost?
The Emergency First Response Course costs £85.00 and this includes all your learning materials, certification fees and use of equipment such as defibrilators etc.
